Original Artwork Car and Couple - Ana Jarén

Two people are tangled together across the open back door of a turquoise car, their legs spilling out onto the street while one torso disappears inside the vehicle. Trainers, socks, a red backpack and a takeaway coffee sit around the doorway, and the dark sky beyond gives the awkward pose the feeling of a spontaneous road-trip stop or improvised rest.

  • Why you’ll like it

Because Car and Couple turns an unglamorous, uncomfortable-looking position into a surprisingly intimate travel scene. The open car door, overlapping legs, backpack and abandoned coffee make the original feel spontaneous and real — more like a memory from a trip than a posed romantic image.
